SlideBase vs SlideStorm: Which TikTok Slideshow Tool Gets App Downloads?
SlideStorm vs SlideBase for app developers: prompt vs store link, per-slideshow vs per-slide credits, TikTok vs TikTok + Instagram. Prices checked Nov 2026.

SlideBase and SlideStorm both make TikTok photo slideshows with AI, and both list “get downloads for your app” as a use case, so if you are comparing them you are already on the right shortlist. The short answer: SlideStorm is cheaper per slideshow and built for running many TikTok accounts from prompts, while SlideBase starts from your App Store, Google Play or website link, writes the hook from your real listing, and posts to both TikTok and Instagram. Pick SlideStorm if you want volume across lots of accounts and are happy writing prompts; pick SlideBase if you have one or a few apps and want each post to be about your app without briefing a tool every time.
Everything below about SlideStorm comes from its own website, checked November 2026. Where the site did not say something, we say “not published” instead of guessing. We make SlideBase, so read this as a founder’s comparison, not a neutral review, and check both sites before you pay.
The one difference that decides it: what you type in
Most of the gap between these two tools comes from the first box you fill in.
SlideStorm starts from a prompt. You describe the slideshow you want and it generates it, up to 10 slideshows from a single prompt according to its homepage. Images come from a stock library (unlimited on every plan), your own uploads, or AI image generation. That is flexible: the same tool can make a slideshow about skincare, a meme account or your app. It also means the quality of the post depends on how well you describe your app, its audience and its angle, every time you prompt.
SlideBase starts from a link. You paste an App Store, Google Play or website URL. SlideBase reads the public listing (name, description, screenshots), works out who the app is for and what problem it solves, then writes a 6 to 8 slide post: a hook on slide 1, the problem and payoff in the middle, your app on the last slide. It also writes the caption and five hashtags and lays the slides out in your brand colours. If your app is not listed yet, you type a name and a short description instead. You can edit every word before it goes out.
So the real question is not “which AI is better”. It is whether you would rather write a good prompt per batch or have the tool read your listing and do the briefing for you.

Pricing, side by side (checked November 2026)
Both tools use credits, but they count them differently, and that changes the maths a lot.
| SlideStorm | SlideBase | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | Starter, $19/mo, 300 credits, 5 TikTok accounts | Starter, $29/mo, 200 credits, 1 auto-posting flow |
| Middle plan | Pro, $49/mo, 900 credits, 25 TikTok accounts | Pro, $49/mo, 400 credits, 5 auto-posting flows |
| Top plan | Premium, $99/mo, 2,100 credits, 100 TikTok accounts | Ultra, $99/mo, 1,000 credits, unlimited flows |
| How credits are spent | 1 credit per slideshow, 3 per AI-generated image, library images free | Per slide: a 6-slide post costs about 6 credits |
| Unused credits | Subscription credits refresh monthly; one-time credit packs never expire | Roll over |
| Free option | “Try the editor free”; no subscription trial described | 3-day trial on Pro and Ultra (card required); Starter is paid from day one |
Here is the honest reading. On stock images, SlideStorm’s $19 Starter can produce up to 300 slideshows a month. SlideBase’s $29 Starter produces about 33 six-slide posts. If raw count per dollar is your metric, SlideStorm wins clearly, and we would rather you hear that from us than find out after signing up.
The count only matters if the posts are worth posting, though. If you plan to run one account for one app at one or two posts a day, 33 to 60 posts a month is what you will actually publish, and the cost that matters is your time per post. If you plan to run 20 accounts with three posts each per day, SlideStorm’s pricing is built for you and ours is not. Full SlideBase plan details are on the plans page.

Where SlideStorm is the better pick
- You run many accounts. 100 TikTok accounts on the Premium plan is a different league. If your growth plan is the multi-account approach (several themed accounts per app, each posting daily), SlideStorm prices for it directly.
- You post about more than your app. A prompt can be anything. If you also run a faceless meme or quote account, one tool covers both.
- You want the lowest cost per slideshow. One credit per slideshow on library images is very cheap. Credit packs that never expire are also friendly if your posting is bursty.
- You want to start without a card. The editor is free to try. Our trial needs a card and is only on Pro and Ultra.
Where SlideBase is the better pick
- You do not want to brief the AI every day. The listing is the brief. Paste the link once and each new post is about your app’s actual audience and problem. This matters most in week three, when you are tired and your prompts get lazy.
- You care about the app slide. The last slide is where installs happen. SlideBase builds it from your listing with your screenshots and name, so the viewer knows exactly what to search in the store.
- You want Instagram too. The same post goes out as an Instagram carousel. If you are on both platforms, that is one workflow instead of two. Our Instagram carousel generator page covers the sizing.
- You want to add a trending sound by hand. TikTok’s API cannot pick music for you. With draft mode the finished slideshow lands in your TikTok inbox, you pick a sound on your phone and publish. Our TikTok slideshow scheduler explains both modes.

A worked example: one budgeting app, one month
Say you built a subscription tracker and want to post once a day on TikTok and Instagram for 30 days.
With SlideStorm you would write a prompt such as “6-slide TikTok slideshow for a subscription tracking app, hook about forgotten free trials, last slide shows the app”, generate 10 variations, pick the best few, and repeat with new angles a few times a month. Credit cost is tiny; the Starter plan covers it many times over. Your work is the prompts, picking, and adding your app slide and caption. Instagram would need a separate path, because the site did not confirm Instagram posting when we checked.
With SlideBase you paste the App Store link once and set a daily automation. Each morning a new post is written from the listing, with the caption and hashtags, and either published or sent to your drafts. 30 posts of 6 slides is about 180 credits, which fits inside Starter’s 200. Your work is reading each post and fixing anything that does not sound like you.
Neither path guarantees downloads. What moves installs is a first slide that stops the scroll and posting long enough to find the angle that works. If you are new to the format, start with our TikTok slideshow strategy for apps and the guide to promoting an app on TikTok.
How to decide in five minutes
- Count the TikTok accounts you will run. More than five: SlideStorm is likely the better fit on price.
- Check if you need Instagram. If yes, confirm with SlideStorm before buying, or use SlideBase.
- Paste your store link into SlideBase’s trial and write one prompt in SlideStorm’s free editor. Compare the first slide each produces for your actual app.
- Pick the one whose first slide you would post without rewriting.

FAQ
Is SlideStorm cheaper than SlideBase?
Per slideshow, yes. SlideStorm charges 1 credit per slideshow on library images, and its $19 Starter plan includes 300 credits. SlideBase charges per slide, so a 6-slide post is about 6 credits and the $29 Starter covers about 33 posts. Prices checked on both sites in November 2026.
Does SlideStorm work with an App Store link?
Its site did not mention App Store link input when we checked in November 2026; it is prompt-based. SlideBase reads App Store, Google Play and website links directly and writes the post from the listing.
Can I post to Instagram with SlideStorm?
The SlideStorm FAQ lists that question, but the answer was not published on the page we checked. Ask their support before buying if Instagram matters. SlideBase posts to both TikTok and Instagram through their official APIs.
Which tool is better for running many TikTok accounts?
SlideStorm. Its plans include 5, 25 or 100 TikTok accounts, and bulk generation of up to 10 slideshows per prompt. SlideBase is built for developers marketing one or a few apps and focuses on making each post specific to the app.
Do either of these make videos?
No. Both make photo slideshows, which TikTok shows in the same For You feed as video. SlideBase does not make video at all, by design.
