Best AI Carousel Generators for Instagram and TikTok in 2026
SlideBase, aiCarousels, PostNitro, Contentdrips, Predis.ai, Canva and SlideStorm compared: who each fits, honest weak spots, prices checked Nov 2026.

The best AI carousel generator depends on where you post and what you start from. For LinkedIn-first creators, aiCarousels and Contentdrips are strong and cheap. For full design control, Canva is still the default. For e-commerce ads and video alongside carousels, Predis.ai covers more ground. For many TikTok slideshow accounts at a low price per post, SlideStorm is hard to beat. If you are promoting a mobile app on TikTok and Instagram and want to start from your App Store or Google Play link, that is the job SlideBase is built for, and it is our product, so weigh that line accordingly. Every price below was checked on the vendor’s own pricing page in November 2026.
How we compared them
A carousel generator has to do four things well, and the tools on this list trade them off differently:
- Input. What you give it: a topic, a blog post, a CSV, a store link, nothing (you design from a template).
- Writing. Whether it writes the hook and slide text, or only lays out text you bring.
- Design. How much the slides look like you, and how much control you get when they do not.
- Publishing. Whether it posts to Instagram and TikTok for you or stops at a download.
We left out pure video tools and general schedulers without a carousel generator. We did not run an output-quality benchmark, so treat the “good at” notes as based on each vendor’s published features and pricing page, not a lab test.

SlideBase: for app developers starting from a store link
SlideBase turns an App Store, Google Play or website link into ready-to-post TikTok and Instagram photo slideshows. It reads the public listing (name, description, screenshots), writes a hook for slide 1, the problem and payoff in the middle and the app on the last slide, plus a caption with five hashtags, then lays the slides out in your brand colours. You can edit everything, download JPEGs or a ZIP, or schedule and post through TikTok’s and Instagram’s official APIs with OAuth, never your password.

Good at: the app-specific workflow. You do not write a prompt; the listing is the prompt. Decks follow the hook, problem, payoff, app structure that app accounts use. One tool covers both TikTok and Instagram, in English or Turkish.
Weaker at: anything that is not an app or product. There are no LinkedIn carousels, no PDF documents, no video. There is no free plan, and Starter starts paid right away; the 3-day trial is on Pro and Ultra only and needs a card. There is no public API.
Price: Starter $29/mo (200 credits), Pro $49/mo (400), Ultra $99/mo (1,000). Credits are spent per slide, so a 6-slide post uses about 6, and unused credits roll over. Details on the plans page.
aiCarousels: the cheap, LinkedIn-first option
Good at: turning an idea into a polished carousel quickly. The Pro plan lists 60 AI carousels and 100 AI pictures a month, 19 “ghostwriter” styles, 304 layouts, up to 20 slides, 10 brand kits and video export for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Direct posting to LinkedIn is included. There is also a one-time lifetime plan if you bring your own OpenAI key. Its free tools work without an account, which is generous.
Weaker at: Instagram and TikTok publishing. The pricing page mentions video export for TikTok but does not list direct posting or scheduling to either platform. The free try lets you make and edit one carousel but not download it. Monthly AI allowances do not roll over.
Price (checked November 2026, aicarousels.com/pricing): Pro $15/mo monthly or $120/yr ($10/mo); Team (5 people) $59/mo monthly or $468/yr; Pro Lifetime $99 once, with your own OpenAI key.
PostNitro: carousels plus scheduling and an API
Good at: multi-platform carousels with a real free tier and a developer angle. The free plan gives carousels up to 5 slides and 5 downloads a month with a watermark. Paid plans raise the AI slide count per carousel (8, 15, 20) and add AI images. Creator+ adds scheduling to up to 10 connected social accounts. An API, MCP server and CLI are available as a $10/mo add-on, which matters if you want to wire carousels into your own workflow.
Weaker at: the Starter plan has no social accounts, so scheduling starts at Creator+. It is a general-purpose tool; nothing in the workflow is specific to apps.
Price (checked November 2026, postnitro.ai/pricing): Starter $15/mo, Creator+ $30/mo, Team+ $60/mo. At the time of checking, Creator+ and Team+ were discounted to $24.99 and $49.98 for Black Friday until November 30, and yearly billing was advertised as two months free.
Contentdrips: repurposing other content into carousels
Good at: converters. Blog to carousel, YouTube to carousel, tweet to carousel, CSV to carousel, plus templates and brand kits. The Pro plan lists API and MCP access and “all social channels” (LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok). If you already write long-form content and want carousels as a by-product, this is the most direct route.
Weaker at: credits are consumed at different rates per feature (an AI carousel is listed at 10 credits, an AI image at 25), which makes monthly capacity harder to predict. Only 2 social channels on Starter, and the TikTok and Instagram channels are listed on Pro.
Price (checked November 2026, contentdrips.com/pricing): Starter $15/mo (1,500 AI credits), Pro $29/mo (5,000 credits, API and MCP), Ultimate $52/mo (8,000 credits, higher API limits). A 7-day free trial with 50 credits. The FAQ mentions annual billing savings.
Predis.ai: carousels as part of a bigger ad and video toolkit
Good at: breadth. Predis makes ads, videos, UGC-style content and carousels, includes competitor analysis runs, and publishes to many channels. If you run a store or brand and want one tool for social posts and paid creative, it covers more than anything else here.
Weaker at: it is priced and designed for that breadth. Auto-posting is not on the entry Core plan. There is no free plan; every plan starts with a 3-day trial that needs a card and charges at the end.
Price (checked November 2026, predis.ai/pricing): Core $32/mo monthly or $230/yr (about $19/mo); Rise $79/mo or $474/yr (about $40/mo); Enterprise+ $249/mo or $2,540/yr. Credits per month: 1,300, 3,200 and 10,000.
Canva: when you want to design it yourself
Good at: control. Canva has the largest template library here, a strong free plan, AI tools for resizing, translating and background removal, brand kits, and social scheduling through its Content Planner on paid plans. If you enjoy design or have a designer, nothing else gives you as much freedom per dollar.
Weaker at: writing the post for you. Canva’s AI helps with design tasks, but deciding the hook, the order of slides and the copy is still mostly on you. For daily posting, that is the expensive part.
Price (checked November 2026, canva.com/pricing): Free; Pro US$18/mo monthly or US$144/yr (US$12/mo); Business US$25/mo monthly or US$250/yr per person. Prices differ by country; Canva shows local prices when you visit from outside the US.
SlideStorm: TikTok slideshows at volume
Good at: scale on TikTok. SlideStorm generates slideshows from a prompt, has bulk generation (up to 10 from one prompt), consistent AI characters, a stock image library and multi-account TikTok posting. It charges 1 credit per slideshow and 3 per AI image, with library images free, which makes it cheaper per post than SlideBase’s per-slide credits. If you run several TikTok accounts and do not need Instagram, it is a strong pick.
Weaker at: Instagram (its own FAQ says there is no Instagram export yet; you download and post manually) and app-specific input. You write the prompt; it does not read your store listing.
Price (checked November 2026, slidestorm.ai): Starter $19/mo (300 credits, 5 TikTok accounts), Pro $49/mo (900 credits, 25 accounts), Premium $99/mo (2,100 credits, 100 accounts). One-time credit packs are also available.
Which one to pick
- You post on LinkedIn and want it cheap: aiCarousels or Contentdrips.
- You want carousels in your own product or automation: PostNitro or Contentdrips, both with APIs.
- You run a brand and also need ads and video: Predis.ai.
- You like designing and want full control: Canva.
- You run several TikTok accounts and only need TikTok: SlideStorm.
- You are promoting a mobile app on TikTok and Instagram and do not want to write prompts: SlideBase.
Whichever tool you choose, the tool is the smaller decision. What drives results on TikTok and Instagram is posting every day with a strong first slide, and keeping it up for at least 30 posts before judging (the reasoning is in how to promote an app on TikTok). Our slideshow strategy guide and Instagram carousel guide for apps cover that part, and the Instagram carousel generator page explains the format rules (4:5 crops, up to 10 slides through the API, text away from the edges). For a narrower list of TikTok-only tools, see best TikTok slideshow makers for app developers.
If you are an app developer and want to see what SlideBase makes from your own listing, create an account and paste your App Store or Google Play link.
FAQ
Is there a free AI carousel generator?
Yes, with limits. As of November 2026, PostNitro has a free plan with watermarked exports and 5 downloads a month, Canva’s free plan includes basic AI tools, and aiCarousels lets you make one carousel to edit without downloading. Contentdrips offers a 7-day trial. Expect to pay once you post daily.
What is the best AI carousel generator for Instagram?
For general brands, Canva for control or Predis.ai for breadth. For LinkedIn-style educational carousels that you also post on Instagram, Contentdrips or PostNitro. For mobile apps, SlideBase, because it writes from your store listing and posts to Instagram through the official API.
Can AI carousel generators post to TikTok?
Some can. SlideStorm and SlideBase connect your TikTok accounts and post photo slideshows for you; PostNitro lists posting to connected social accounts from its Creator+ plan; Contentdrips lists TikTok on its Pro plan. Others export images or video that you upload yourself. Check that a tool uses the official API and never asks for your password.
Is a carousel the same as a TikTok slideshow?
Mostly. Both are a set of still images the viewer swipes. Instagram calls it a carousel, TikTok calls it a photo post or slideshow. Instagram feed posts usually crop to 4:5, while TikTok shows 9:16 vertical images, so a good tool exports both sizes.
Why are prices different from what I see?
Vendors change prices, run seasonal discounts and show local prices by country. We checked every pricing page in November 2026 and noted discounts where we saw them. Always confirm on the vendor’s site before buying.
