PostNitro and aiCarousels Alternative for App Developers

PostNitro and aiCarousels are great LinkedIn-first carousel designers. Where they fit app marketing on TikTok and when an app-specific tool saves time.

If you are an app developer looking for a PostNitro or aiCarousels alternative, the usual reason is that both are excellent carousel designers built for LinkedIn-style posts, and you need something that already knows your app and writes the TikTok post for you. SlideBase is one option built for that case: paste an App Store, Google Play or website link and it writes and lays out a 6 to 8 slide TikTok and Instagram slideshow with your app on the last slide. If you post on LinkedIn too, or want fine design control, PostNitro and aiCarousels are still the better tools, and they are cheaper.

Prices below come from postnitro.ai/pricing and aicarousels.com/pricing, checked November 2026. We make SlideBase.

What PostNitro and aiCarousels are great at

Both tools come from the LinkedIn carousel world, and it shows in the best way. Their strengths:

  • Design control. aiCarousels lists 304 layouts and 19 AI “ghostwriters”; PostNitro offers brand kits, custom templates and palettes per plan.
  • Turning text into slides. Paste an idea, a post or an article and get a clean, readable carousel.
  • LinkedIn. aiCarousels posts directly to LinkedIn. PostNitro schedules to LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Facebook and Pinterest on its higher plans.
  • Price. Both have free entry points and paid plans from $15 a month.

If your marketing is founder-led LinkedIn posts with the odd Instagram carousel, stop reading here and pick one of them.

SlideBase

Starter $29/mo (200 credits), Pro $49 (400), Ultra $99 (1,000). Credits are spent per slide, so a 6-slide post is about 6 credits, and unused credits roll over. 3-day trial on Pro and Ultra only, card required; Starter is paid from day one. Full list on the plans page.

On price alone, PostNitro and aiCarousels win. The rest of this article is about whether the extra cost buys you anything as an app developer.

Why app developers end up looking for an alternative

The friction is not quality. It is that a design tool waits for you to bring the idea, and an app TikTok account needs a new idea every day.

  1. You explain your app every time. A design tool does not know who your users are or what problem the app solves unless you paste it in. By week three, that briefing is the part you skip, and the posts get vague.
  2. LinkedIn-style slides read wrong on TikTok. A clean title card with bullet points is perfect for a professional feed. On TikTok, the first slide has to feel like a thought the viewer already had (“What the hell are macros?”), with a photo, not a headline over a gradient.
  3. The app slide is on you. The last slide is where installs happen: app name, real screenshot, one reason to search. In a general carousel tool you design it yourself, every time.
  4. Caption and hashtags are separate work. On TikTok the caption carries search keywords; on Instagram it carries the hashtags. Another five minutes per post.

None of that is a flaw in PostNitro or aiCarousels. They are built for a different job. Our TikTok slideshow strategy guide explains why the app-post structure differs from a LinkedIn carousel.

How SlideBase handles the same job

  • Input is your listing. Paste an App Store, Google Play or website link. SlideBase reads the name, description and screenshots and works out audience and problem. Unlisted apps can type a name and description.
  • Structure is built in. Hook on slide 1, problem and payoff in the middle, app on the last slide. 6 to 8 vertical slides.
  • Design is automatic. Photos chosen per slide, your brand colours from the listing, your screenshots on the app slide. You can change anything.
  • Caption plus five hashtags are written per post.
  • Posting goes through the official TikTok and Instagram APIs with OAuth. TikTok can publish directly or land in your drafts so you add a trending sound. Or download JPEGs or a ZIP.

What SlideBase does not do: LinkedIn, video, or detailed template design. If you need those, keep PostNitro or aiCarousels in the stack. The Instagram carousel generator page shows the Instagram side, and the faceless app marketing page covers why this format suits developers who would rather not film themselves.

Cost per post, done honestly

Take one TikTok post a day, 30 a month, 6 slides each.

  • aiCarousels Pro, $15: 60 AI carousels a month covers it twice over. You write the angle, design the app slide and caption, and post by hand or via another scheduler.
  • PostNitro Creator+, $30 list: 15 AI slides per carousel and scheduling to TikTok and Instagram for up to 10 accounts. You still brief each post and build the app slide.
  • SlideBase Starter, $29: 30 posts is about 180 of the 200 credits. Hook, slides, app slide, caption and posting are generated; you review and edit.

So the cash cost is similar to PostNitro Creator+ and double aiCarousels Pro. The difference is minutes per post. If writing and designing takes you 15 minutes a post in a design tool, that is seven and a half hours a month you either spend or skip.

Another slide from the same deck. Each slide earns the next swipe on its own, so viewers reach the app slide at the end.

FAQ

Is PostNitro good for TikTok?

Yes for design, and its Creator+ plan and up schedule to TikTok. It is a general carousel tool, so you supply the idea, the app details and the final app slide yourself. App developers who want the post written from their listing often pair it with or switch to an app-specific tool.

What is the cheapest aiCarousels or PostNitro plan?

Both have $15 a month plans, checked November 2026. aiCarousels Pro is $120 billed yearly, and there is a $99 one-time lifetime plan if you bring your own OpenAI key. PostNitro has a free plan with a watermark and 5 downloads a month.

Can SlideBase post to LinkedIn?

No. SlideBase posts to TikTok and Instagram only. You can download the slides as JPEGs or a ZIP and post them anywhere, but for LinkedIn-first carousels PostNitro or aiCarousels are better fits.

Does SlideBase have a free plan like PostNitro?

No. Pro and Ultra have a 3-day trial with a card required; Starter ($29/mo) is paid from the first day.

Why does an app slideshow need a different structure from a LinkedIn carousel?

On LinkedIn people read carousels for insight from a person they follow. On TikTok strangers swipe because slide 1 hit a problem they have, so the app has to arrive as the answer at the end rather than the subject from the start.

Your app's first post is three minutes away.

Paste your App Store link. SlideBase reads the listing, writes the hook and lays out the slides. You decide whether it goes live.
